We have made it to 36 weeks and if I go into labor baby girl will officially be here. It seems as though that she has gotten the message to stay put and isn't going anywhere. My repeat c-section has been scheduled for September 19th if I do not go into labor before then and I have a feeling we may make it til then.
I am still on bed rest and will be until she comes. I am allowed to get up and do light things for 15-20 minutes at a time and then rest again for awhile. I am still very uncomfortable and contracting but thankful she has gotten the time she has to develop more and get bigger.
I am seen weekly by my doctor and we are pleased with what we see. I have a non stress test every time to make sure that my contractions are not affecting her heart rate or well being. She has always passed these with flying colors. I then have an ultrasound to make sure that the amniotic fluids look good as well as the placenta and umbilical cord. It is amazing to see her every week and she is ALWAYS laying in the same position. She has been head down for weeks and always has a hand up by her mouth, sometimes squishing her cheeks up. We have been seeing her practice breathing each ultrasound which she gets extra points for from the technician.
I feel blessed that she has stayed put and I have gotten to experience different things this pregnancy than my last one. I had one ultrasound with Braylen at 20 weeks and then a 3d one around 28. So far this pregnancy I have had 7 ultrasounds from the very beginning and could end up having 10 or so. Along with seeing her practice breaths, I have seen her suck her thumb, open her eyes, and open her mouth.
As much as I am ready for her to be here and be able to hold her in my arms, I am truly grateful and thankful that she has stayed put so long. Each day that passes lessens the risk of her being in the NICU or having serious issues.
We love you baby girl and are so anxious to see you!
I love reading your posts! Good luck and prayers to you guys :o)
