Explanations

I have always said that "family days" are my favorite. Usually they only get to happen on the weekends. Today was just one of those days. Let me tell you how our day has gone so maybe you can understand why I live for them..

Brett and I woke up at about 8:15am and yes, this is sleeping in for us. I checked our video monitor and Braylen was still snoozing sideways in his bed. That meant Brett and I got to stay in bed for awhile and snuggle instead of jumping right out of bed to get ready. When we did get up and get Braylen and took him potty, we got to talk all about how he slept and what he dreamt about. Of course when I asked him, he said that he dreamt all about Mommy and Daddy :)

Then we came downstairs and turned on Aladdin and did Braylen's morning breathing treatments for his asthma. Brett made us all eggs(for whatever reason he has always been the egg maker of the household) and we sat around the table eating breakfast listening to the Elmo pandora station. After breakfast we terrorized our living room by getting out any and all toys that Braylen owns and we played until lunchtime.

We went out to lunch before going grocery shopping. It seems to be a favorite pastime of Braylen's to reach his little hands out of the cart and touch everything on every aisle we go down. It is much easier to shop with Daddy's help. I make sure to take some juice as to occupy him for at least a few aisle, especially the cookie aisle. He has recently started asking "what's that?" to everything that he even knows so we always have that game to play. Generally the afternoon would be nap time but lately he has been a protester of naps and can't seem to ever fall asleep. So Daddy and Braylen played and watched Toy Story while I made Rice Krispy treats. I came back into the living room when I was done to this....

Looks like they both got a nap in anyways, how can you not love this? We will finish off our day by eating dinner, probably playing some more, watching the Cardinals play tonight, and putting Braylen to bed. Days like these may not interest you, but to us they mean everything. Braylen will only want to hang out with us all day for so long...
